Tom. McCarty
Hamilton, Montana: Rocky Mountain House Press, 1986. 56pp. Frontis. portrait. Preface by Jim Dullenty. Notes by Charles Kelly. Bibliography. Printed pictorial wrappers. First edition, limited edition of 300 copies. SIGNED by Jim Dullenty. Fine copy. Tom McCarty and younger brother Bill began to rustle horses and cattle in the 1870s and by the 1890s, had graduated to bank robbery. Along the way, he became associated with Butch Cassidy and the “Hole in the Wall Gang.” His crimes were committed primarily in Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming. McCarty describes his “adventures” in great detail, although people and places are often referred to only by initials. A lively first-person account, that is seldom offered.
