Externally, it is clean, near fine copy. Internally, there is a faint crease to the front fly, else, fine. The dust jacket shows general rubbing with chipping the spine ends and perimeter, overall, good. It is certainly one of the finest and most exhaustive studies of Texas furniture to date, which includes photographs of 222 representative pieces. The photographs are accompanied by detailed descriptions that include the maker, date, materials, measurements, history, owner and analysis of each piece. Introductory chapters provide an overview of nineteenth-century Texas and a brief history of the development and decline of Texas cabinetmaking.
