PATRIOTIC SONGS & POEMS OF EARLY TEXAS, 1836-1848.
John H. Jenkins
Austin: The Pembeton Press, 1966. 23pp. Frontis. Illustration. Tan wrappers, 8 ½” x 11” with title and author in red & black ink. First edition. Near fine with the small, tasteful bookplate of Stanley Marcus. Issued by Johnny and Mareen Jenkins as a Christmas keepsake, it contains 27 songs and poems relating to either the Texas Revolution or the Mexican War. Because of the rather fragile binding and the fact that they were done in a small edition for family and friends, it is scarce. This is a very nice copy with a unique association.
