BRIEF FOR THE CHEROKEE STRIP LIVE STOCK ASSOCIATION.
Brenham: Lone Wolf Press, 1999. 78pp. Printed wrappers. Facsimile reprint of the very rare 1890 original to which has been added a preface written by David Dary and a frontis portrait of Judge McAtee. This is one of the first 25 (out of an edition of 50) which is in a cloth slipcase with the title in gilt on the morocco spine label. Very fine. Adams, The Rampaging Herd 1367: "Very rare. This important cattle trade trial concerns the right of the Cherokee Nation to charge rental for the use of its Oklahoma lands for grazing, when, in 1890, President Harrison issued a proclamation denying the right of the Cherokees to lease their lands and demanded the removal of cattle from these lands. This brief is in behalf of the Indians and vigorously attacks the President's action."
