Folding map (approx. 10 ¾” x 15”) showing existing navigable, authorized and under consideration waterways. Blue-green marbled cloth with the title and author’s name in gilt on the cover and spine. First edition, LIMITED EDITION of 700 copies. SIGNED by Morris Shepherd (U.S Congressman & U.S. Senator from Texas). There are two other illegible signatures which are presumed to be members of the Trinity River Canal Association. This is the first book devoted to the past history and the then current possibilities of making the Trinity River navigable to the Gulf of Mexico.
