A HISTORY OF THE 90TH DIVISION.
Major George. [World War I] Wythe

N.p. [New York]: Printed for the 90th Division by the Da Vinne Press, 1920. 259pp. Frontis portrait of Henry T. Allen, Division Commander. Numerous black & white photographs. Maps-(4 folding, 1 text). Appendices(5). Decorated endsheets. Tan pebbled cloth with dark brown spine, decorative device on the front cover with title on the front cover and spine. Laid-in is an undated letter regarding a reunion of the unit in Abilene. First edition. Fine copy (no dust jacket issued). The 90th Division, known as the “T-O” division because most of the unit’s personnel were from Texas and Oklahoma, was formed at Camp Travis on August 25, 1917. During World War I, the unit saw action in the Viller-en-Hay and Purvenelle sections of Loraine and the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne sectors. Much of the focus of the book is on these theaters but there is also material on its formation, its occupation duty in Germany and subsequent demobilization on May 1919. The appendices record the number of prisoners captured, roster of the officers, casualty list for officers and enlisted men, and unit citations. The principal reference on the 90th, it is scarce in such nice condition.
