THE KRIEGHOFF PARABELLUM

THE KRIEGHOFF PARABELLUM
Randall Gibson
Dallas: Taylor Publishing Co., 1980. 280pp. Index. Bibliography. Numerous photographs. Light blue embossed cloth with silver lettering and device. First edition, limited edition of 1,500 (This copy is unnumbered.). Fine copy (no dust jacket issued). The Parabellum was in continuous production from 1900 into 1945. Of the eight manufacturers which participated in the production of this pistol, the firm of H. Krieghoff Waffenfabrik was the last to commence and cease manufacture. Krieghoff Lugers, with their broad number of variations and limited production, are somewhat of an unknown to collectors. In an attempt to fill this void, the author has examined numerous individual weapons and interviewed many knowledgeable experts. The result is a well written and researched volume which provides the best single source of information on models, mechanical characteristics and comparisons of various issues, serialization, markings, production sequence, accessories, etc. The extensive photographs maximize the information in this cornerstone work.
