MEMOIRS OF PANCHO VILLA.
Austin: University of Texas Press, 1973. xii,512pp. Index. Folding map. Photographs. Translated by Virginia H. Taylor. Light tan cloth. Originally published in Mexico in 1951, this is the fourth printing of the first edition in English. Clean fine copy. The dust jacket shows the expected fading to the spine and slight edgewear, overall very good. Martin Luis Guzman, eminent Mexican historian, knew and traveled with Pancho Villa at various times during the revolution. Covering his life from 1894 to 1914, the author wrote the book from Villa’s private papers, records, and what was, apparently, the beginning of an autobiography. This is one of the more important books on Pancho Villa.
